‘Irreversible Damage’ writer and contributor to the Wall Street Journal, Abigail Shrier, joins ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ with a response

A new report reveals internal turmoil apparently at Penguin Random House Canada about the publication of a book by Canadian clinical psychologist Dr. . Jordan Peterson.

Peterson, a professor of psychology at the University of Toronto and a popular podcast host, announced Monday that he was releasing a new book, « Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life, » due for release in March next year.

However, Vice reported Tuesday that Peterson’s book sparked an emotional outcry within the Canadian publishing giant, with efforts by employees to pressure the company to cancel the book’s publication.

According to the report, on Monday in an internal town hall, « several » employees confronted the management of Penguin Random House Canada (PRHC), a subsidiary of Penguin Random House, and « dozens more have filed anonymous complaints » about the plans PRHC publish the latest work of the politically and culturally pronounced professor.

« He is an icon of hate speech and transphobia and the fact that he is an icon of white supremacy regardless of the content of his book. I’m not proud to work for a company that publishes it, « a town hall said the participant, who is also a member of the LGBTQ community, told Vice.

Another employee claimed that « in the meeting people cried about how Jordan Peterson affected their lives ». One said Peterson had « radicalized her father, » and another insisted that the publication of Peterson’s book « will negatively affect her non-binary language, » Freund. «

« The company has been doing all these anti-racist and allied things since June and the publication of Peterson’s book contradicts that completely. It just makes all of their previous efforts seem completely performative, ”the employee told Vice.

PRHC told Vice in a statement: « We announced yesterday that we would be releasing Jordan Peterson’s new book, Beyond Order, this coming March. Immediately after the announcement, we held a forum and gave our employees the opportunity to express their views and provide feedback. Our employees have set up an anonymous feedback channel that we fully support. We are open to feedback from our employees and to answering all of their questions. We continue to seek to publish a number of voices and positions. ”

Vice’s report quickly went viral on social media, with critics mocking the weeping staff, suggesting they quit or be fired from the publisher because of their emotional reaction to Peterson’s job.
