Property developers Mattamy Homes have confirmed several contractors were laid off after a party took place at a construction site in Milton amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Several photos from the April 9 party were posted on Twitter showing various workers at a construction site with a stripper.
In a statement sent to CP24, Mattamy Homes said she was up had been made aware of the incident and confirmed that the employee and subcontractors were from Nelmar Drywall.
“Mattamy Homes was made aware of an extremely inappropriate and totally unacceptable incident that occurred on Friday April 9th in a house under construction took place on one of our construction sites, in which an employee and subcontractor of one of our trading partners, Nelmar Drywall, was involved. « Read the statement.
The statement goes on to say that they will strengthen their » zero tolerance guidelines and clear expectations regarding the code of conduct in the workplace « as well as their » strict COVID-19 protocols « and make necessary adjustments .
