The WHO Emergency Committee has recommended that no COVID-19 vaccination certificate requirement be introduced for international travel. This is stated in a statement on the WHO website.
« Having proof of vaccination should not exempt international travelers from complying with other transport risk reduction measures, » the committee added.
The committee also made recommendations for new strains of coronavirus: experts called for expanding molecular testing and genetic sequencing to detect mutations, as well as creating a publicly accessible database.
In addition, the experts suggested developing a standardized naming system for strains to avoid geographic linkage. Work in this direction is already underway.
