WELLINGTON: New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has vowed not to skip the New Zealand-England series for the IPL.
With New Zealand set to play Tests against England in June, it is likely to take place during the IPL play-offs.
The IPL 2021 series is expected to take place in April and May. The IPL auction for this has been completed on the 18th. The BCCI has not yet announced the date and venue. A few days ago, BCCI President Saurav Ganguly said that it would be announced soon.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will play for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. With the Test series between New Zealand and England scheduled for June, it is expected that both the IPL and that series will coincide.
New Zealand players, including Kane Williamson, have been ruled out of the play-off rounds of the IPL. But New Zealand cricket spokesman Richard Booch said they had no objection to participating in the entire series of the IPL.
Captain Kane Williamson has confirmed that skipping the England series for the IPL would not be right. However, he added that there was no need to talk about it at present as the dates of the two series have not been confirmed yet.
