Jonny Clayton has a number of victories against Jose De Sousa this year and Dan Fitch supports him to again while previewing Wednesday’s Premier League darts action.
Michael van Gerwen’s chances of winning in the Premier League have decreased again after losing 7-2 to Peter Wright.
MVG are now in 2.56 / 4 to win the Premier League with the Dutch player at the top of the table after two games. Wright remains the second favorite with 6.05 / 1, Jonny Clayton with 7.513 / 2, Gary Anderson with 9.08 / 1 and Dimitri van den Bergh with 10.09 / 1.
It was a good start for Cross as the former world champion tries to get his game on track. So far he has drawn with Jose De Sousa and then defeated James Wade, which ties him to Van Gerwen.
This will be a great test of where Cross is right now. He’s thrown nine 180s on Van Gerwen’s four so let’s support him to get the most 180s at 2.0421 / 20. Defending champions Durrant lost in the first two games and really needs a win to put the rot on to stop. Against Van den Bergh, who seems to be very at home in the Premier League, that is unlikely.
Van den Bergh followed his draw with Van Gerwen with a 7-5 win over Nathan Aspinall on Tuesday, in which he scored an average of 103.70. You can support a Van den Bergh win and get him the most 180s on 8/11 in sports betting.
Anderson has looked very solid so far, with some big box office and consistent points. Wright can of course beat anyone in his day, but those odds should maybe be a little closer than we’ve seen so far.
Last year in the Premier League, these players drew 6-6 before Anderson won 8-5 in the longer format. This could be another tight game with over 11.5 legs available at 6/5.
This looks like another game where the odds are too far apart. Both players lost on Tuesday, but Aspinall can appreciate his performance against Van den Bergh more than Wade did for his loss to Cross.
These opponents have faced each other seven times in 2020, with Aspinall winning four against Wades three. The value seems to be at Aspinall, which you can cautiously support in the Draw No Bet market at 2.3811 / 8.
Jose De Sousa finds out how tough the Premier League can be. Despite playing decently, he has yet to win a game after a draw with Cross on Tuesday was followed by a 5-7 defeat by Anderson.
Now he’s facing a debutant at Clayton who has got off to a flying start . They have met four times this year, with Clayton winning each time. With that in mind, the 2.01 / 1 odds of a Clayton win look generous.
