Devendra Fadnavis also reacted to the incident in Virar on Twitter. “Another shocking incident. The ICU at Covid Hospital in Virar is saddened to learn that some people have died in the fire. My goodwill is with the families of the deceased. Corona prays that the patient’s condition improves as soon as possible. We demand a thorough inquiry into the matter and action should be taken against those responsible, ”Fadnavis said.

Fire caused by explosion of AC
The fire at Vijay Vallabh Hospital in Virar was caused by an AC explosion, Dr Dilip Shah told reporters. The hospital has centralized AC and the fire spread everywhere within two minutes, he said. The fire started at 3 pm and the hospital was rushed to the spot. There were a total of 17 patients in the ICU. Four of them managed to escape. However, other patients could not save their lives and died in the fire. Fire brigade and police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the fire. The fire brigade has succeeded in bringing the fire under control shortly after reaching the spot.

A total of 90 patients were admitted to the hospital. After the fire broke out, those on oxygen as well as those in critical condition have been shifted to other hospitals. Twenty-one patients have been shifted, including four women and seven men. At present, his condition is stable, the hospital said.
