Thrissur: The Pooram started yesterday with the opening of the South Gopura Nada without any people or noise. Thrissur Pooram today with corona restrictions. Today, only the Pooram ceremony will be held at the Thekkinkad ground where the crowds come. Pass is mandatory for everyone entering Poorapparamba. Audiences can watch Pooram live through visual media.
Kanimangalam Sasthav will wake up Poorapparambilezhunnalli Pooram at 7 in the morning. Then the arrival of the constituents will begin. Ghatakpurams are reached by riding on an elephant. A maximum of 50 people can attend each of the eight component temples.
Kongad Madhu will be the chief of the Panchavadyam at the old Nadakkavil Math at 11 am. After the ceremony of expelling Bhagavathi in front of the Paramekavu Temple at 12.30 pm, the world famous Ilazhithara Melam will be held at 2 pm on the west side of the Vadakkunnatha temple. Thiruvambadi’s Pandi Mela will be held at 2.45 pm at Sreemoolasthanam.
The famous parade will take place at 5.30 pm on the south tower walk. 15 elephants will be lined up from Paramekavu. 25 sets of forks. Pooram will be fired at 3 in the morning after the panchavadyam of the Paramekkavu section at 11 at night. Pooram will bid farewell at Sreemoolasthanam tomorrow at 9 am.
The organizers and temple officials were allowed to enter only after a corona inspection. No entry to Thrissur Swaraj Round from Friday morning till 2 pm on Saturday. Only those who go to the hospital for emergency treatment will be admitted. Shops will not be allowed to open.
