Read all about it: LOEWE has presented its autumn / winter 2021 womenswear collection entitled “A Show In The News”. In a groundbreaking (news) attempt to undermine the fashion world as we know it today, the label’s creative director Jonathan Anderson continues his efforts to create paper-based shows using the new FW21 collection in the most popular Media format presented There is a supplement for newspapers that will appear in Le Figaro and Le Monde in France, El Mundo in Spain, the Times of London, the New York Times and Japan’s The Asahi Shimbun.
There is in response to a show that wasn’t thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but that didn’t stop Anderson’s creativity. Instead, it set a fire under its feet to create something that millions will see and emblazoned the supplement with a bold headline that read « THE LOEWE SHOW WURDE ABGESAGT » next to a LOEWE logo for the imprint. </ If you read your insert, you will find pictures by Fumiko Imano with Freja Beha Erichsen wearing the latest and greatest designs from the FW21 collection from LOEWE. Light acrylic tones flood the collection alongside textured graphics, where undulating silhouettes appear to be textured through the use of lines – in short, everything is very mondrian, very modern abstract art and perfect if you want to feel extra at home while getting dressed.
One of the outstanding features of « A Show In The News » is the quilted lead look. Quilting is very important in the collection, but it is strongest in the green and white fur, which is fluid yet firm. The shapes (in this and throughout the collection) are curvy but textured, and on this coat, the dimensions are only accentuated by the colorful lines that cut through it.
Elsewhere, LOEWE presents complete contrasts that are still playful. For example, there is a black riding coat and matching culottes adorned with giant pink tassels, while an asymmetrical dress is covered in glitter and glitter to add a bit of glamor.
The « show » is rounded off by the return of the LOEWE Amazona bag, which was first launched in 1975. It is the epitome of LOEWE accessories and appears this season in nappa calfskin and anagram jacquard variations that perfectly match the lively and subtle pieces in the collection. In addition, Anderson has made color-blocked, cleated-soled boots, pleated buckle boots and high-heeled bracelets, a new range of puzzle bags, knotted and twisted bracelets and earrings in sterling silver, all rounded off with signature twisted chain elements in gold or rhodium-plated silver.
LOEWE’s « A Show In The News » can be seen in the gallery above or in the newspapers mentioned above and will appear in the store and on the LOEWE website sometime in August.
