Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to give a big gift on January 17 to the people of Kashi. Now a train connecting the Statue of Unity with Shiv Nagar Banaras is going to start. PM Modi will flag this train running from Varanasi to Kevadia through video conferencing.
There is a Kevadiya station near the Statue of Unity built on the banks of the Narmada River in Gujarat, which has been built recently. Kevadia Express will be the first train to run from this station. Starting from Varanasi Cantt railway station, this train will connect Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat. With the help of this train, now passengers will be able to travel to Gujarat. Also, tourists will be able to reach the Statue of Unity easily.

Railway administration busy in preparation
On January 17, PM Modi will flag off the Kevadia Express. Railway administration has also started preparing for this. Both the station and the train are being decorated in a special way. Major officers of the railway will also participate in this inaugural event.
The initial schedule of the Kashi-Kevadia Superfast train running from Kashi to Kevadia has been fixed. On Thursday of every week, this train will run from Cantt railway station of Varanasi at 5.00 am and reach Kevadia station at 9.15 am on Friday. At the same time, the return will leave Kevadia station at 6.55 pm on Tuesday evening and at 11.10 pm on Wednesday night, the train will reach Cantt railway station of Varanasi. This train will up-down Varanasi, Prayagraj, Satna, Katni, Jabalpur, Itarsi, Bhusaval, Amalner, Nandurbar, Surat, Bharuch and Vadodara via Kevadia.

According to railway officials, this train of superfast category will cover a distance of 1614.1 km in 27.50 hours. One first class AC bogie, 20 second and third class AC bogies, eight sleeper class and four general bogies are being installed in 20 coach racks. The train will also have a pantry car and two power vehicles. All coaches will be LHB.
