The 48-year-old actor finished filming as Max Branning in December and his final scenes aired last week.

The father of two told Good Morning Britain: “It was a sad moment. Fifteen years is a long time on any show. It was emotional.

« I finished filming three months ago, so it was a little weird to look at her again. »

And he said of the womanizing of his alter ego: « I am this one I’ve been with my wife for 26 years, so I couldn’t be more different than Max. «

Wood made his debut as Max in Albert Square in 2006, but briefly played Jackson, a young homeless man 16 years ago.

« I have two teenagers at home who teach at home, a dog who needs eye drops every hour … and a chicken coop that needs to be cleared, » he said. « So I’ve never been so busy! »
