The ship, the spiral staircase at Hudson Yards on Manhattan’s Far West Side, was closed to visitors Tuesday, the day after a 21-year-old man jumped to his death in the third suicide in less than a year. It was unclear when the 150-foot structure, at the heart of the huge development, would be open to the public again.
– The New York Times

According to NYT, the ship sculpture that opened in Hudson Yards in March 2019 will remain closed « until further notice.

Make sense – your final view is a pile of crappy luxury condos. Nothing life-affirming. The most depressing place on earth.

I wonder if they will do something about it. ~ 20 a year at the golden gate and they won’t put up barriers or anything because it’s an icon.

Given how contentious society is now, I’m surprised they don’t put 10 foot barriers on the upper levels.
