Gujarat Local Body Election Results: BJP ahead in more than half of the seats in municipal bodies.

In the last few weeks in Gujarat, voting was held for 81 municipal bodies, 31 district panchayats and 231 taluka panchayats, for which the counting of votes is taking place today. (See live blog here) In the initial trends, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is looking to gain an edge over most of the 81 civic bodies. For the district panchayat and taluka panchayat, the scope between the votes cast in favor of the opposition Congress and the votes in favor of the BJP is quite wide. Let us know that next year assembly elections will also be held in Gujarat.

The BJP was leading in 54 of the 81 civic bodies in the initial counting of votes. The Congress had an edge over two seats. At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has opened an account on one seat. BJP is leading on 12 out of 31 district panchayats. The rest of the parties are nowhere here. In the taluk panchayats, BJP is leading in 51 seats out of 231 seats, while the Congress is leading in seven seats.

Explain that there are a total of 8,474 seats in these civic elections. Of these, elections were held for a total of 8,235 seats, candidates were elected unopposed in the remaining seats.

Let us know that last week BJP won 483 seats out of 576 seats in the municipal elections in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar. At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party won 27 seats in Surat, winning a major victory. Congress account was also not opened here.

Let us know that apart from BJP-Congress in these civic elections, this time for the first time, Aam Aadmi Party and Asaduddin Owaisi’s party All India Ittihad-e-Muslimeen had also fielded their candidates. Kejriwal went to meet party workers here after a victory in Surat and did a roadshow.
