The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders also made allegations. Former CM Devendra Fadnavis also raised questions about the delay in the FIR.

The BJP said that the minister should resign, as the Pune police is under pressure and is unable to conduct a fair investigation. BJP leaders had also performed at many places in the state. It was also said that if Rathore does not resign, the assembly session will not be allowed to run. Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fadnavis has said that the resignation of the minister will not be enough and an FIR should be lodged against Rathore. The BJP began to surround Rathore after alleged photos, audio and video clips went viral on social media.

After the resignation of Rathore, Nawab Malik, a minister in the Maharashtra government, said that he had submitted his resignation himself, the Chief Minister would take his decision.
