Mumbai, Feb 22: Dadra and Nagar Haveli MP Mohanbhai Dalekar (58) committed suicide in a hotel in south Mumbai.
MP Mohan Bhai is said to have committed suicide at Sea Green Hotel on Marine Drive, South Mumbai. Death Note has been written in Gujarati.
The exact cause of his suicide is unknown. Police visited the spot and the body was sent for post-mortem. Police are continuing to investigate.
Mohanbhai, a leader of the activist organization, was elected to the 9th Lok Sabha in 1989 from Dadra and Nagar Haveli. From 1989 to 2009, he won six consecutive elections. However, he failed to secure a seat in the 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections. But in the 17th Lok Sabha, he contested as an independent candidate.
