Bengaluru’s team on Thursday announced a 29-man squad for the match against Nepali team Tribhuvan Army FC. Three Kovid-19 positive cases were found in the players and staff a day before the team’s announcement.
The team consists of five reserve players. Head coach Marco Pejiauoli will have his first match for the team and he is busy in preparations.
« Captain Sunil Chhetri will lead the team in the seventh season of continental football and he has joined the team in Goa where players are preparing for the match, » the club said in a statement. «
Twenty-six-year-old Chhetri was found corona positive on March 11 and on March 28, he announced that he had recovered from the infection. Due to this, he could not play in two international friendly matches of India played in Dubai against Oman and United Arab Emirates. In this, Oman played a 1–1 draw, while they lost 0–6 to the UAE.
On Wednesday, the club announced that three cases were positive in the Kovid-19 test during the camp that began on April 5.
